I’ve got fitness on my mind. This has been a thrilling month for sports enthusiasts. The Tour de France just finished and the World Cup is not quite a distant memory. Turmeric, a spice used in many Asian and Indian dishes, contains the phenol curcumin. It is one of the main components of curry powder. It relieves many health conditions, including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But athletes should be most interested in its anti-inflammatory properties.

Curcumin has been found in clinical trials to decrease joint pain and inflammation, and improve joint mobility and function after several months of treatment. Curcumin supplementation can speed recovery, and could be a beneficial supplement for athletes who have or wish to prevent joint pain and problems.

Vitamins, supplements and medicines can be beneficial as you attempt to physically challenge yourself.. The trick is learning to navigate those supermarket aisles. Unless you’re well versed in chemistry, it’s hard to determine what specific ingredients will do for you. But armed with a clear goal and a little information, you may well be on your way to your ideal sustained exercise routine.
