The Case for Vegetables

The Case for Vegetables This may be our least-exciting blog title to those of you who aren’t big fans of vegetables, but hear us out! Experts suggest that we eat five to nine servings of vegetables each and every day, but the fact of the matter is that very few folks even reach the minimum. But with all of the variety that exists in the world of vegetables – some you may not even know about – there’s definitely something for every taste; even those of you who aren’t big veggie fans.

Here is a quick list of some veggies that are packed with nutrients and can add some flavor to your meals, too.

  • Kidney beans (yep, they’re veggies!)
  • Black beans
  • Asparagus
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Red bell peppers
  • Corn

Come to think of it, you could probably make a case for including just about all of those in one delicious meal!

Of course, we know vegetables are good for us, but how good? Well, many of us aren’t sure. Many vegetables, for example, are good for us because they contain antioxidants. Antioxidants, of course, remove free radicals in our body which can harm the cells in our body, which means vegetables are beating up the very things that are trying to break down your health. And the more of them you eat, the better your chances of good health!

As they say, the best health care is that which comes before you get sick, and so much of that starts with what we eat. If there are some foods that don’t work well for you and you need vitamins to get those nutrients, we can help with that. We can even discuss compounding with you to make life even easier for you.
